A pre-existing condition is an injury, illness, or health issue that affected you before you were involved in an auto collision or experienced a work injury.
Often a pre-existing condition will be exacerbated by a new injury. For example, if you had a bad knee before an auto collision, it will probably be a lot worse after it slams into the steering wheel.
Often insurance companies refuse to adequately consider claims involving pre-existing condition(s) – even if the new injury is plainly apparent. If you have a claim involving pre-existing conditions, you should immediately talk to an attorney to understand your particular situation.
