What if the injury occurred in a different state? Should Iowa work injury laws apply?

If your injury has occurred outside the state of Iowa, you may still be eligible for benefits under the Iowa Workers’ Compensation laws. If at the time of the injury, your employer has a place of business in this state and you regularly work at or from that place of business, you are likely eligible for Iowa work comp benefits.

Additionally, if you are working under a contract of hire made in Iowa, it is likely that you will be entitled to Iowa benefits.

Putnam Law will help you determine which state workers’ compensation laws are applicable and the most advantageous for your claim. If necessary, our office will refer you to another attorney, should it be necessary. There is no obligation and the call is free.
