The answer to this question is… it depends.
You can only take off an amount of time that is reasonable given the extent of your injuries and the nature of your work.
In some cases, this could be just a matter of weeks. In other cases, the injury is so severe that the client is unable to return to work at all. In other cases, still, the client can go to work, but with reduced hours or light-duty work, in which case they get to recover benefits for a portion of the difference between their previous pay and their current pay.
How long these benefits last is determined on an individual basis and is heavily dependent upon your doctor’s recommendations.
